I cycled last night from Courtice. I have
to say it was my best ride in the 5 years I have been
cycling. I was so happy. I couldn't stop talking about
[my ride]
once back, I was thrilled. I think the adjustments and new
tires
helped!
Thanks for recommending Mark, I will never go to anyone
else.

Mark,
I came in with a Scott Plasma a couple of weeks ago to get
fit.
Just wanted to let you know I feel comfortable and powerful
on the bike. I
had my best triathlon so far last weekend.
I wanted to say thanks again!

Hi Mark,
I just got back from a 65km ride and although my lungs and ego are
thrashed, my knee feels as good as it did when I woke up this morning.
While I'd like to blame my bike for my difficulties it preformed
flawlessly and I see no need to change the cleat position. I really
appreciate the work you did and the pep talk - I'll be out riding much
more regularly this year for sure.
Cheers,
Eric
Hey
Mark...
I just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying my new
Cervelo Dual. I'm riding every chance I get. The FSA/Dura-Ace
transmission is soooo smoooth and the bike just flies.
I
really appreciate the time you took to set up the bike fit
for me. I have only had to make small adjustments for
comfort, but otherwise you were spot on!
Thanks
again for your attention and great service.
Cordially,
Bob

Hi
Mark!
It's
been 3 weeks today since I have got the Colnago. What a
time I had! I keep discovering new things, new
dimensions of cycling. It really is dreamland. So
far everything is holding on perfect. I did not change
anything, e.g., seatpost height, angle, etc.
I
tried some hills I used to do near Hamilton - again, it's a
new dimension in ride quality. Thank you again for your
help, advice and getting me that dream bike! So far I
have about 850 km on it - too bad I have to work, classes
started 2 weeks ago...
'see
you around. And thanks again,
Francois

Hi
Mark---both bikes---Katies Opus road bike and my cool
Pinarello cross
have
been wonderful and I would like to thank you guys for
everything. I
have
really enjoyed the cross bike and it fits great.

Thanks
for your support!
I am writing to thank you and Tim for the support by TI Cycle
of the 2005 Kingston Kids Tri again this year. Your donation
of a bicycle draw prize made a young athlete very very
happy!!! In addition, I am writing to
thank you and congratulate you on a job well done in the
delivery of my new GURU Flite!! Your attention to detail in
the order and the building of the bike make this my favourite
Guru (it is my 3rd!!) It is fast! The Team of TI Cycle and
GURU is an excellent one that I support strongly. I recommend
to all of the athletes I know and those I represent to
try your Team first!!!! Thanks for your continuing
first class efforts!

Why
I Choose TI Cycle:
A little while ago Mark Dwyre asked me to write a little note
about his store, say something nice, you know, a testimonial
if you will. I suppose it is not so much a testimonial though,
it is really a story of values. As consumers, we all have our
idea of what value means. What follows is my view of TI Cycle
and its relentless efforts to provide quality bicycles and
service.
It
began about 5 years ago, when I lived way up North. In a place
that is cold and frosty 8 months of the year, and four months
you get big black flies. I speak of North Bay, of course this
is my story and I can tell it the way I like. Anyhow, getting
back to the subject at hand, my current employment has given
me the opportunity to explore parts of Ontario very closely.
In fact, it was not fate that took me into Gananoque those
many months ago, but work.
As
it happens, I was considering a monumental move from a Kona
Kapu road bike to something that was of much better quality.
My current role right now, before I forget to mention, is that
of a Quality Assurance Verifier. So, as a result, as I grow
more comfortable in my role, I am also finding that I am
rather fussy about the quality of almost everything I use,
buy, drive, eat, sleep, think, oh the list is endless. So,
with that in mind, I had done some initial research and
decided that I wanted to look closely at titanium bikes.
Enter
TI Cycle. I mean I was just driving along and right before my
eyes, what do I see, but TI Cycle. The bike gods were looking
after me I thought. A blessing, I thought. I imagined the
scene behind the counter. It looked like a nice tidy little
store, with perhaps, some bespeckled old bicycle master behind
a long, thick, grey beard, wearing a soiled, blue denim smock.
In the pockets of the smock would be a rag, flat tipped
screwdriver and a wrench or two. Bicycle heaven? I felt that I
must not miss this opportunity, so in I turned in.
“What
do you have in Titanium?”, I asked the tall, clean cut young
apprentice or sales guy I thought as I walked about the store.
“Well,
not much, except that Norco Team Ti hanging there. What is it
you are looking for?”
“Well”,
I said, “I really would like a custom built road bike. That
is why I stopped. You know, I saw TI Cycle and I thought that
you specialized in titanium bikes.”
“The
name is Thousand Islands Cycle, not titanium.” Replied the
clean shaven, dry young man, sounding insulted at my
ignorance.
“Hmpf”,
replied I. It seemed like my search was not over, but just
beginning. I was about to leave, when the hook was thrown into
the water. The lost bike soul in me took a nibble.
“Why
do you need a custom frame ? You seem to be of average build
and height. I think I can fit you on a Colnago frame set
. Besides, if you want to sell the bike at some point, it is
easier to move a common size frame than it is a custom
frame.” I paused at the door. This sounds interesting.
He
continued, “Colnago is one of the finest road bikes in the
world. I have a custom built bike myself, but for all its fine
fit, it does not hold a candle to the ride and the experience
of the Dream Plus I am riding right now.” I felt the line
tug and ten tighten. He began to speak a language that was
foreign to me, yet it held the romantic tone of say Parisian
French.
Fast
forward to now. When I look back at that first step in the
door, I still get the same personal service as I got then.
Four Colnagos later, not to mention, the upgrades to my
trusty Kona Hot mountain steed, there is only reason I keep
going back. The plain, simple truth is that when you search
for quality in something important to you and finally you find
it, others just pale. No matter how you compare others, that
may at first glance appear similar, or places and things that
look exotic, you keep coming back to the best.
I
have grown to trust Mark and Tim at TI Cycle as salt of the
earth people that run a business because they love and live
the business. The refreshing part of all this is that I made a
couple of friends that I enjoy stopping to talk to when I pass
by.
Maybe
the TI really is titanium because they are sure a model pillar
in the tough bicycle market place. TI Cycle is built to last.
Oh
one more thing, they are also involved in one great stage
race, the Multi-Laser Grand Prix. I wish more shops had the
conviction to the sport that TI Cycle has.

Why
I Choose TI Cycle II:
Back
in June I rode away from TI Cycle on a brand new Colnago
C40HP. Today I would like to take a moment to thank you for
your assistance in the new bike selection process, and to
acknowledge the outstanding knowledge, service, and product
line you offer your clients.
My
first visit to TI was in the summer of 2001 when I was looking
for a bike of my own to replace the borrowed one I was using.
The following spring I returned with a new bike I had
purchased elsewhere. I was experiencing a few fit and finish
problems, as a well as a cleat placement problem that the
vendor did not seem interested in, or perhaps capable of
addressing. Fortunately you were able to make things right,
and you only mildly ribbed me about showing up on your
doorstep with problems that originated elsewhere. I remember
being impressed by the neatness and orderliness of the store
Since
that time I have become a regular visitor at TI. Sometimes for
minor adjustments, sometimes for a major overhaul, and
sometimes for new shoes, or new tires, or any number of
cycling’s gotta’ have items. More often I simply drop in
to say hello and get a quick infusion of the current cycling
vibe. I have yet to be disappointed along any of these
dimensions. Whenever I hear the phrase “I think you’ll be
happy with …..” I know I’ve made a good choice.
I
grew up in Toronto, and over the years I’ve developed a
habit of visiting a few bike shops along Queen Street whenever
I am in town. I used to think of them as being the authority
on cycling, and the keepers of the widest selection of
products. Funny thing; on my most recent visit I was kind of
disappointed. I guess I have become accustomed to a higher
standard.
Enough
of my memories. Let’s get back to the C40.
I
just finished a ride from Newport Beach California to Savannah
Georgia and I can not say enough about this bike. We averaged
190km per day for 27 days and not once did I feel anything
close to an ache or a pain. Whether I was climbing,
descending, riding into a headwind, or enjoying the daily
sprint to the motel, the ride was fast, solid, and unwavering.
With the trademark Colnago paint, and a crisp shifting
Campagnolo drive train, I received more than a couple of
complements from passersby and fellow riders alike.
When
I came to TI looking for a new bike I said I was looking for
something I could ride hard all day, every day, without
sacrificing comfort. You guys were accommodating when it came
to test rides, and you were patient and gracious as I spent
what seemed like an eternity making up my mind. I eventually
followed your recommendation and could not be more satisfied
with the outcome. This time around there were no fit and
finish or cleat issues to worry about. Everything was perfect
at the day of delivery. A month later my purchase
decision passed the most stringent of tests. My credit card
statement arrived, and I did not feel the tiniest amount of
remorse!
These
days the daylight is dwindling and on some mornings I am
starting to see small patches of ice along the roadside……
What do you guys think of rollers as opposed to spin bikes
?…………..
Thanks
for everything,
Bill
